On 14-17 November, the world's leading trade fair for medicine and medical technology, Medica 2016, will take place in Düsseldorf, and we will be there. We are looking forward to what promises to be an interesting exchange of ideas relating to visualization software in the field of medicine and medical technology. We offer services as well as software products for numerous areas of application, including image processing, image enhancement, and imaging systems.

Our Mesh-Editor, with which you can visualize and edit point clouds and 3D mesh data and also create cross-sectional views, is well-suited for the visualization and modelling of prosthetic devices.

With our know-how in development, we can also offer advice regarding the modernization and optimization of your standard software. We develop algorithms for signal processing, object recognition and classification, 3D reconstructions, and interfaces for connecting devices to standard software (Matlab, LabVIEW, etc.). There are many different areas of application, and we look forward to your inquiries and ideas.

On 8-10 November 2016, VISION 2016, the world's leading trade fair in image processing, takes place in Stuttgart – an event we definitely do not want to miss.

After all, Cadida Software offers a wide range of products and services related to the broad field of image processing. It is thus vitally important for us to remain informed about the latest innovations and new applications, and also to present our own contributions on the subject.

Our Mesh-Editor is used to edit point clouds and 3D mesh data and display them on the computer monitor. Thanks to its modern and ergonomic user interface, even novice users can quickly learn how to use Mesh-Editor to achieve their objectives.

Cadida's CAD-Editor comes with more than a hundred different functions for editing CAD designs or craeting new drawings yourself. Besides the usual drawing and editing commands, you can also attach user data to CAD objects or integrate switches into a drawing, for instance in order to facilitate navigation to another drawing.

In the area of services, we develop algorithms for (among others) image processing, image enhancement, sensor technology, cameras, and measuring technology, create interfaces to LabVIEW, Matlab, or Simulink, and expand existing or create new libraries with OpenCV.

In late July 2016, Autodesk's licensing model will undergo yet another change. One novelty is that users will no longer own their software but will be merely leasing it. In other words, something that since February 2016 has been the case for standalone licenses of AutoCAD, Revit, and Inventor will apply to additional Autodesk products and suites as well.

The advantage of this change for Autodesk is that the lease model allows them to better calculate their income, which they also hope to increase.

Among users, however, this model is not always received as warmly. For instance, a company that updates its software every two to four years will quickly calculate that the new model might well result in increased costs. As a result, mid-sized companies in particular have begun to consider changing to a different CAD system.

We will have to wait and see whether the lease model is a success or a failure. Starting 1 August 2016, AutoCAD users will have to decide whether to go along or to look for alternatives.

As a result of this uncertain situation, an increasing number of clients and potential clients have contacted us for advice on the right solution to their needs. Since we are not a CAD dealer, we can provide our clients with independent, unbiased advice on the direction to take for the next years or even decades.

Besides those looking for advice, we have also received an increasing number of inquiries regarding the porting of functions and add-ons to other CAD systems such as BricsCAD, Allplan, SolidWorks, Siemens NX, Cadida CAD-Editor, and more.

In practice, any transition to another system must be well planned. Questions include: "How can the CAD system be integrated into our environment?", "How much does training cost?", "How good is technical support?", "How long does the transition take?", "When is a change worth it?", and more. These are all important questions, and you should take your time to answer them to your satisfaction.

Please feel free to contact us with your questions.

On 30 April and 1 May 2016, the Reitclub 99 e.V. horse-riding club will be holding its annual competition at Mundenhof.

We are glad to announce that we are supporting this event as a sponsor.

The mission of Reitclub 99 is to make horse-riding affordable for people of all ages. Especially for boys and girls, working with horses is an great way to combine sport with social responsibility.
At Reitclub 99, children and adults learn not just how to ride a horse, but also how to care for and look after it.

At the annual horse-riding competition, young jockeys get the chance to show off their skills and to learn new things by watching the "big people" in action.
