Cadida turns 5 – thoughts on who we are and on the term “start-up”. This March, Cadida Software GmbH has existed in its current form for a full 5 years. A reason for us to celebrate, but also to look back, to look ahead and to give some thought to who we actually are, what we actually do and where we want to go.
The definition of a “start-up” company reads roughly as follows: “a young company with high ambitions for rapid growth, agility, creative solutions and flat hierarchies”. In some respects this fits us well, in others it does not, or no longer does.
For example, we have always put healthy growth and prudence as well as financial independence first. With this careful approach, we have grown steadily over 5 years and are delighted with our team. And that is what matters to us – a long-term outlook, predictability and security. Whether in our business relationships or with our employees, we want to maintain our collaboration over the long term so that everyone involved can benefit in the long run from a trusting and familiar basis and from growing experience.
For a genuine start-up, we also had “too much experience” in our field of business right from the start. After all, when our founder and managing director decided to become self-employed, he brought with him a great deal of know-how not only in software development but also in staff management and sales. Knowledge, caution, prudence and planning have therefore always been the basis of our company’s development.
When it comes to flat hierarchies, however, we hope we will never stray far from the start-up philosophy: everyone in our diverse team has their own individual strengths, from which everyone else benefits. No question is “stupid”, and in our weekly team meetings, which include a short training session, everyone is heard. The interdisciplinary approach, the different personalities and the wide range of experience of our employees lead to the – another keyword from above – creative solutions which we hope will always distinguish us too.
Terminology aside: we are celebrating our 5th anniversary and look forward to many decades to come, continued healthy growth, new and “old” projects, the best possible team spirit and fantastic existing and new customers!
