Task
Our customer plans meter cabinets and distribution boards with a CAD system developed in-house. The first goal was speed, because large designs took minutes. After that, display and operation were to become more modern.
Solution
- Performance: After measurement and restructuring, the system responds 12.5 to 15 times faster.
- WPF CAD viewer: a new display of the drawing in WPF.
- Zoom preview: An overview window uses a selection frame to show which part of the drawing is currently visible. This also works when the view is zoomed far out.
- Views and viewports for different perspectives on the same design.
- Dynamic blocks: Components adapt via parameters instead of each variant being a separate block.
Benefits
The planners work smoothly even with large designs. And the software keeps growing with new functions instead of being rewritten.
